Test that have quality = Test that can be done

If question test that is made by a teacher is tested to students and many students can not do it as like as the standard completeness, it means the question low of quality. This concept astonishes many teachers who like to make difficult question. Many teachers still have a hunch that difficult question is good question. This point of view must be undeviating.

Difficult question precisely will impair the bounce of students to develop


The right way to make the tests that have quality is open book model. With this way, teacher will change the content of question from the difficult question to be challenge question. With open book teacher will not make question like the question below:
1. When the war of Prince Diponegoro happened?
2. Mention the digestion process of food?
If that question is given to students with open book style, exactly all students answered correctly. Teacher will challenge to make question with high taxonomy Bloom. For example like question below:
1. Why did prince Diponegoro decide to surrender to Dutch?
2. What will happen in food digestion process if the people have the ability to do not chew the food?
It is very different kind in giving question. The second kind of question is very challenge to students do. While with open book, the effort of critical and analysis will very important to look for the answer.

Ability Test, not Disability Test

Authentic scoring have concept ability test, not disability test. The mean of this test is very right because the test have purpose to know the ability of student, not the disability. Ability test is a test that has content and indicator which show the ability of students in many aspects. Meanwhile, the features of disability test are:
a. The question that is given emphasize to unfamiliar test, which is the question which can not get from daily learning process.
For example: when teacher give question that the kind is new by the students when the test happen. The teacher never gives the question that resemble when learning process happen. The question is very new with students’ knowledge.
b. The questions which don not have range which was agreed.
For example: teacher said to his/her students to learn chapter 1 – 3 to be tested by next week. In fact, the question which is made by teacher is chapter 4 and 5.
